What Can I Learn in the Program?
The Aveda esthetics program, also called the esthiology program, is designed to help students discover themselves and prepare to be outstanding estheticians. Our esthetics program covers the topics a student may need to become a licensed esthetician, as well as many other things that can help them be successful after graduation. Here’s what you can expect to learn in the esthetics programs at Aveda Institutes Boise and Twin Falls:
- Skin Analysis
- Sanitation & Infection Control
- Makeup Application
- Brow Arching
- Communication Skills
- Lash & Brow Tinting
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Skincare Theory
- Temporary Hair Removal
- Electronic Facials
- Skin Treatments
- Specialized Skin Treatments
- Packs & Masks
- Chemical Exfoliation
- Business Skills
Our students have the chance to perfect these skills in the student spa after completing 150 hours of introductory material. This is where our students really get to know the procedures and practices of a professional skin care specialist under the supervision of a licensed esthetician.
Business + Beauty
What good would an esthetics education be if it didn’t include training on business growth and management? Our esthetics students can learn the business end of their beauty careers from our talented owners, Ren Shaw and Nate Shaw. These two are unique and skilled professionals that own their own salon and beauty school, so they know what it takes to be successful in the beauty industry. You can learn networking, business strategy, and more during your time in our esthetics program.
The Aveda Difference
Aveda products are known worldwide for their quality and mission. Becoming a student at an Aveda Institute gives you full access to the entire Aveda product line, a rare opportunity that beauty professionals at other schools usually don’t have. Aveda products are effective, indulgent, and earth-friendly, making them the ideal tools to help our students learn to be masterful estheticians.
In addition to the products, our students also have the opportunity to become part of the Aveda network. This large collection of graduates is spread across the globe, connecting all of the Aveda family together. This network is where students can be themselves and express themselves among a family of beauty professionals. This opens opportunities for continuing education, business, and growth for many of the members of the network.
Learn Differently at Aveda Institute Idaho
The best way to learn is by doing, which is why we dedicate most of our program time to the spa floor. Once the introductory phase of the program is completed, students have the opportunity to move into the spa floor and start performing services on real clients. The students are helped and supervised every step of the way by licensed estheticians who can help students sharpen their skills.
While working the spa floor, students have the opportunity to start building their own book of business. Students can grow their business and bring their guests with them when they graduate from the school. This is important for our students because it helps them to be set up for success after graduation by building out their resume and providing a base of clients that can continue to support them.
Our spa area is built specifically with our students and their services in mind. Modern, innovative, imaginative, and bold. All things that describe our students and our student spas!
Learn from industry professionals, interview with local employers, and build your network with beauty professionals all while you’re still in school. These opportunities allow you to expand your horizons as a beauty school graduate and can sustain you for years to come!
